As long as I can remember, and perhaps my entire adult life, I had been in a state of suffering. When I look back and think about all the tears I cried and all the lessons I’ve had to endure in this life, it becomes apparent and painfully obvious, that suffering is at the cornerstone of it all.
In some sick way, I was having a love affair with suffering.
I replayed painful memories over and over in my mind.
I purposely listened to music and song lyrics that would remind me of a beloved who past away when I was just 19, so I could feel close to him in some way.
I was naive about people, men and friendships, without recognizing that my spirit was desperately trying to lead me another way.
I never listened.
And I suffered so greatly for it, until I had made it part of my identity.
Today I’d like to share with you the power behind ending suffering — what it truly takes to break-up with this insufferable ‘love affair’, which is the path of The Great Work.
WHAT IS SUFFERING?
"To suffer" is to undergo or experience pain, distress, hardship, or adversity. It involves enduring something difficult, unpleasant, or challenging. Suffering can be physical, such as experiencing pain or illness, or it can be emotional, involving feelings of sorrow, sadness, or grief.
The term is broad and can encompass a range of negative experiences or conditions that cause discomfort, whether on a physical or emotional level. In various contexts, "to suffer" also refers to enduring the consequences of one's actions.
Suffering is rampant in our modern age and it’s only getting worse.
On every ‘corner’ there is a new magick pill promising a brighter future — the entrepreneurs’ call it bright shiny objects, religion calls it God, and scientists call it technology.
Whatever we call it, the root of the problem is almost never addressed, which always requires a deeper look within. And yet, people rarely go within.
They fail to self-contemplate. They do things subconsciously and unconsciously.
As I am getting ready to take my 48th year around my sun, I am guided to reimagine my work and how to better serve my people. It’s humbling to get to share what that next stage is for me: to help end suffering.
From Qabalah, Astrology, Magick, Alchemy, Tarot, and the many other occult traditions I have studied over the past 30 years, it wasn’t until recently that it dawned on me that these methodologies are the tools I use to help end suffering, for myself and for my clients.
I suppose having an intimate relationship with suffering for more than 40+ years, I can look back on all those experiences and see my life through a new set of eyes.
What are all these tools and teachings for, if not to help heal myself and to help heal the world?
If I have suffered so greatly and found a way to dig myself out of the abyss, surely there are thousands of others who would benefit from innerstanding the workings of their psyche too.
This is what Western Occultism has shown me: how to heal from the root.
And that root is THE PSYCHE.
In Qabalah, we call the psyche The Tree of Life.
In Astrology, we call it natal birthchart.
In Ancient Greek Philosophy and Mythology, we call it The Mind and The Soul.
In Hermeticism, we call it The Microcosm (individual) and The Macrocosm (universe).
The Gnostic Traditions, we call it The Divine Spark within the Individual
Neoplatonists call it the higher, spiritual aspect of the self.
Jungian Psychology refers to it as the totality of the human mind, including both conscious and unconscious elements.
I call it an esoteric technology.
To kick-off my newfound “niche” (which we will call: An End to Suffering: The Path to The Great Work) I’m hosting a workshop I have been eagerly awaiting to teach and today I get to do just that!
KUNDABUFFER & THE DRAGON
2024 is the Year of the Dragon and it couldn’t be a more divine confirmation, as I take this next step to help others innerstand the infrastructure of their esoteric psychology: The Psyche.
Your esoteric technology holds the key to repairing your experience with life and the dragon is at the bedrock of it all.
The dragon is a symbol of transformation and rebirth. In many myths, dragons are portrayed as powerful beings capable of undergoing significant changes, such as shedding their old skin or being reborn from flames. This symbolism aligns with the idea of personal and spiritual transformation.
Dragons are also considered guardians of hidden or esoteric knowledge. They may be depicted as protectors of ancient treasures, sacred sites, or mystical insights. The dragon's association with wisdom suggests that it holds profound secrets that can be unlocked by those who approach it with respect and understanding.
They are depicted as creatures embodying dualities, such as the union of opposites like fire and water, earth and sky. This symbolism represents the integration of polarities and the harmonization of conflicting forces within the self or the cosmos.
The dragon is directly linked to the concept of Kundalini energy (Shekinah in Qabalah)—a coiled force that resides at the base of the spine. Activating and raising the Kundalini is seen as a transformative process, and the dragon is a symbolic representation of this powerful spiritual energy.
Suffering is the result of an untamed dragon — the metaphorical dragon that lives within all man. However, the majority of people have no idea how to work with their dragon and as a result, the dragon controls them.
Suffering is an epidemic for this reason.
The ego gets involved and the entirety of our organism gets ‘bent out of shape’. We continue to search for magick pill after magick pill, with no avail for a proper, holistic solution.
And yet, the solution is available to those who are ready to see themselves for what they are: a sacred temple that possesses innate magickal power — the power of the Dragon.
As we will uncover in the Kundabuffer and the Dragon workshop available here at The Mystic Mirror, you will see that your psyche is a highly impressionable and programmable map of consciousness.
In order for us to learn how to end suffering, I will use the ancient system of Qabalah: The Tree of Life and its Qliphothic roots.
Through the allegorical story of: Adam and Eve, Nahemah and Lilith, Sodom and Gomorrah, we can begin to see how the psyche works and how it is so easily influenced.
